Havana Film Festival New York (November 5-11, 2021) / Opening night: El olvido que seremos/Memories of My Father (2020), directed by Fernando Trueba

The Havana Film Festival New York opens with Oscar-award-winning director Fernando Trueba’s tender drama based on the true story of Colombian human rights activist Héctor Abad Gómez. Starring Javier Cámara (The Young Pope, Talk to Her), EL OLVIDO QUE SEREMOS / MEMORIES OF MY FATHER tells the story of a man torn between the love of his family and his political fight set in the violence-riddled Colombia of recent decades.

Following the screening was an in-person Q&A with Héctor Abad Gómez.
