In her one-woman play Blackface y otras vergüenzas, Afro-Catalan writer and actress Silvia Albert Sopale offers her critical view of the “official history” of the Afro-descendant community in Spain. Starting from celebrations and facts that are racist, the creator questions them and highlights how they impact the cultural imagination of society. Through various characters and situations, the viewer can approach the emotions and feelings of a community silenced and still ridiculed in what are considered “shameful” moments in the XXI century.
